Hello all,
A quick-ish intro. I bought my first Jeep around '94. It is (I still have it) a '82 CJ-5. When my first born came into the world in '90, the bike went to the end of the driveway with a for sale sign. After 4 years, I was seriously missing riding. The Jeep was a compromise, allowing me to take off the top and enjoy the outdoors.
Fast forward to today, three of the five kids have their own Jeeps. We continue to take family trips a couple times a summer, and enjoy the opportunities for informal Jeep cruises around our area in-between. It has been a common binding activity that continues into the kids adult lives, making me blessed to have a solid family tradition.
I hope to share what I can, and learn what I may not know yet, although I should clarify that my knowledge is limited to the older Jeeps. In the family, the newest is a '92 (If you exclude the wifes current Cherokee Trailhawk).
